Professor Mafruhi Sattar, the Election Commissioner for the Jahangirnagar University Central Students’ Union (JUCSU), has resigned from his position.
He made the announcement at a press conference held in front of the Fine Arts and Humanities Building on Friday.
Sattar said, “I have observed numerous irregularities in the election. I have seen several critical flaws that have called the election process into question. While I agreed with the views of the Election Commission members, they expressed unwillingness to accept my opinion on certain matters.
“The election commission began vote counting without resolving the issues I raised, and I formally submitted my stance in writing. Given the limited time, it is no longer feasible for me to continue in my role as Election Commissioner. Therefore, I am announcing my resignation from the Election Commission.”
