Southeast Bank PLC has partnered with Jahangirnagar University to launch exclusive co-branded credit and prepaid cards for the university’s faculty, staff, and students. The announcement was made following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on September 4, 2025.
The co-branded credit cards will be available to faculty members and staff, offering lifetime free services with appropriate credit limits. For students, the prepaid cards will allow easy usage and online transactions, enabling payments for application fees to foreign universities and other domestic and global expenses.
The cards will feature Jahangirnagar University’s logo, symbolizing a partnership aimed at enhancing financial services for the university community.
Jahangirnagar University Treasurer Professor Dr M Abdur Rab and Southeast Bank Deputy Managing Director Md Masum Uddin Khan signed the MoU. The ceremony was held at the university’s administrative building, with Jahangirnagar University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Muhammad Kamrul Ahsan attending as the chief guest.
Professor Dr Ahsan called the MoU a significant milestone, opening new opportunities for financial inclusion and access to modern banking services for the university community.
Several senior officials from both organizations were present, including Jahangirnagar University Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Professor Dr Mohammad Mahfuzur Rahman, Jahangirnagar University Pro Vice-Chancellor (Admin) Professor Dr Sohel Ahmed, and other key university and Southeast Bank representatives.
