Dhaka University has announced that from 8pm on September 8, 2025, to 6am on September 10, 2025, access to the university’s entrances, including Shahbagh, Polashi, Doyel Chattar, Shibbari Crossing, Fuller Road, Udayan School, and Nilkhet, will be restricted for the general public due to the upcoming Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (Ducsu) and Hall Council elections, according to a press release.
However, students, teachers, and staff members holding valid university ID cards will be allowed entry. Family members of the faculty and staff will also be permitted entry by presenting a photocopy of their respective family member’s ID card.
Except for vehicles with Dhaka University stickers and those involved in emergency services, such as ambulances, medical personnel, law enforcement, fire services, and journalists, no other vehicles will be allowed on campus during this period.
The university has requested all students, faculty, and staff to carry their ID cards with them during this time. Family members of faculty, staff, and students who are not affiliated with the university will need to obtain a security pass from the Proctor’s office for any emergency visits to the campus.
The press release requested everyone’s cooperation for the smooth execution of the election process.
