BNP Standing Committee member Dr Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain met with BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman in London.

The meeting took place on Monday (London time). Mosharraf and his son, Dr Khandaker Maruf Hossain, a member of BNP’s National Executive Committee, were present.

Mosharraf said, “After a long time, I had an open-hearted discussion with the acting chairman of the party. The feeling is incomparable.”

The BNP leader noted that while he meets Tarique Rahman virtually once or twice a week during party meetings and programmes, the last face-to-face meeting was in 2008, when both were arrested on the same day and spent a month together in prison. “After that he moved to London, and we did not meet for many years,” he added.

“After so many years, when we finally met, we shared many long-pending conversations and discussed politics. It felt very relieving. I wish our leader Tarique Rahman a long life and success for the welfare of Bangladesh,” Mosharraf stated.

When asked if Tarique Rahman spoke about returning to Bangladesh, he replied, “Yes, Tarique Rahman said he will return very soon, though no date has been fixed yet.”

Mosharraf mentioned that after completing his medical treatment, he will leave on Wednesday and return to Bangladesh on Thursday.
