ACC Secretary Md Saidur Rahman Khan has said the investigation into corruption allegations against NCP spokesperson and former interim government adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain, is not being politically influenced.

In response to a question from journalists at the ACC office on Monday, Saidur said the commission was operating legally as an independent and autonomous institution.

“We are not conducting any case under anyone’s influence or with any deliberate motive. We are carrying out our activities legally and fairly,” he said.

Asked whether the commission was targeting anyone, Saidur said, “We are not targeting anyone. Since they were pending, we are presenting them according to the pending list.”

Asked whether the ACC was examining allegations against other advisers of the interim government, he said he could not confirm it at the moment.

“If allegations have been received, they will certainly come under the law as well,” he said.

“Regarding other advisers against whom allegations are coming or exist, we are looking into them legally,” he added.
