Rajshahi university releases draft RUCSU voter list

Rajshahi University has published the draft voter list for the upcoming elections of the Central Student Union (RUCSU), Hall Parliament, and Senate student representatives. The total number of voters is 25,152.

The draft list was made public on Wednesday night (August 6) through the university’s official website.

According to the released list, there are 15,468 male students and 9,684 female students eligible to vote.

In a notice signed by RUCSU’s Chief Election Commissioner Professor Amjad Hossain, it says : “The draft voter list for the RUCSU, Hall Parliament, and Senate
student representative elections has been published.”

The list is available on the RUCSU website (https://www.ru.ac.bd/rucsu/) and on the notice boards of the respective residential halls.

The notice further mentioned that any objections to the draft voter list must be submitted to the authorities of the respective residential halls within the deadline
specified in the election schedule for resolution.

Hall-Wise Voter Distribution

Among the 11 residential halls for male students, Shahid Habibur Rahman Hall has the highest number of voters with 2,398. Other halls’ voter numbers are as follows: Sher-e-Bangla Hall – 972, Shah Makhdum Hall – 1,247, Nawab Abdul Latif Hall – 817, Amir Ali Hall – 988, Shahid Shamsuzzoha Hall – 1,035, Motihar Hall – 1,618, Madar Bakhsh Hall – 1,573, Hossain Shaheed Sohrawardy Hall – 1,542, Shahid President Ziaur Rahman Hall – 1,947, and Bijoy-24 Hall – 1,330.

For female students across six halls, July-36 Hall has the largest number of voters at 2,153. The numbers for other halls are: Munnujan Hall – 2,007, Rokeya Hall – 1,816, Tapasi Rabeya Hall – 1,037, Begum Khaleda Zia Hall – 1,124, and Rahmatunnessa Hall – 1,547.
