Bangladeshi actress Jannatul Sumaiya Heme has said her parents have always given her the freedom to make her own decisions about marriage, adding that she believes it is a matter of fate.

In a recent interview with a media outlet, the small-screen actress said her family had never pressured her to get married.

“My parents have always given me the freedom to decide about marriage. Marriage is a matter of fate. We do not know what Allah has written in our destiny,” Heme said.

After focusing mainly on single-episode dramas for several years, the actress has returned to television series with Prothom Premer Golpo, directed by Tanvir Tanmoy.

Speaking about her return to serial dramas after a long break, Heme said she could not remember exactly how long it had been since she last appeared in one.

She noted that audiences sometimes become interested in watching follow-up episodes when a standalone drama becomes popular. The makers took that audience demand into consideration while developing the series.

Prothom Premer Golpo is being released on the NAF Entertainment YouTube channel every Monday and Tuesday. New episodes began streaming on 12 October.
