Three consecutive explosions were heard in the Dhaka University area at around 10:45pm on Monday.
Two of the explosions reportedly occurred in front of Jagannath Hall, while another took place near the TSC Metro Station. However, the nature and cause of the explosions could not be confirmed immediately.
When asked about the incident, Dhaka University Proctor Israfil Ratan said a team led by assistant proctors was dispatched to the spot after learning of the explosion sounds. He added that the exact type of explosion has not yet been confirmed.
Citing eyewitnesses, the proctor mentioned that smoke was seen at the location. No detailed information regarding the incident was immediately available.
