United Commercial Bank (UCB) has partnered with medical tourism facilitation company Plan Medi Trip to offer preferential rates and complimentary services for overseas medical treatment to its employees, their families and selected customers.
Under the memorandum of understanding, eligible UCB employees and family members, Priority Banking customers and debit and credit cardholders will receive benefits for treatment in India, Thailand and Malaysia, according to a UCB press release issued on Thursday.
The package includes complimentary airport transfers and preferential inpatient treatment rates, with savings of around 5–10 per cent. Beneficiaries will also receive visa assistance for India, Thailand and China with discounts of up to 50 per cent, the release said.
The partnership also aims to reduce the logistical burden of seeking treatment abroad. Beneficiaries will receive complimentary treatment plans, cost estimates and invitation letters, including support for arrangements involving multiple hospitals.
Priority medical visa processing for Thailand will also be available, reducing the processing time to around three to five working days from the usual 10–12 working days, according to the release.
Eligible beneficiaries can access the services by presenting a UCB debit, credit or Prestige Card, visiting card or identity card.
The agreement was signed at UCB’s corporate head office by UCB Chief Human Resources Officer Syed Hasnain Mamun and Plan Medi Trip Chairman Saikat Bhadra and Managing Director Flora Nazneen Neela. Senior officials from both organisations attended the signing ceremony.
The partnership adds medical travel assistance to UCB’s employee and customer benefits, bundling treatment discounts with transport, visa and hospital-coordination support. For customers seeking treatment abroad, that combination could reduce both the financial and administrative costs involved in arranging care.
