Chief Whip of the ruling party in Parliament Nurul Islam Moni has said that Awami League looted the country for 17 years and has not remained idle, adding that if they return to power, they will hang Jamaat.
He made these remarks on Friday afternoon at Patharghata in Barguna.
At the time, he further said after 1/11, Awami League came to power and gave execution to Jamaat while gifting flags to BNP to engage in politics.
Nurul made the comments at an event in Patharghata held to distribute financial assistance cheques of Tk50,000 each among families of missing fishermen, alongside Demand Orders (DO) for relief aid activities across Puja mandaps.

At the ceremony, he also alleged that Hasina laundered over Tk1 lakh crore (over a hundred thousand crore taka) from the electricity sector abroad from Bangladesh.
Subsequently, after distributing government aid comprising corrugated iron (CI) sheets and cheques among 31 families affected by a fire in Kakchira area of Patharghata, he added that electricity production in the country would be doubled within the next year.
He further said that if electricity and gas could be obtained through a long march, BNP would have conducted a long march first.
