Prime Bank has taken its ‘Empowering Youth’ programme to Khulna University, using a financial literacy session to help students build practical money-management skills while giving them a closer look at careers in banking.
The seminar, titled “Financial Inclusion: Engaging & Inspiring Youth in Banking”, was organised under the bank’s PrimeAcademia initiative in collaboration with the Khulna University Career Club, according to a press release issued Thursday.
The second season of the ‘Empowering Youth’ programme focused on saving, managing income and expenses, making informed financial decisions and planning careers. The initiative comes as banks seek to engage younger people with formal financial services while improving their understanding of responsible money management.
Khulna University Vice-Chancellor Md Rezaul Karim, who attended as chief guest, urged students to use advances in information technology to pursue opportunities in higher education, research and careers. He also appreciated the university and Prime Bank for organising the programme.
Prime Bank Financial Inclusion and School Banking Head M M Mahbub Hasan delivered the keynote on financial literacy and personal money management. He discussed healthy financial habits, regular savings and long-term financial discipline, and introduced his “Grandfather Concept of Personal Money Management”.
He also highlighted Prime Bank’s 31-year journey and the changing expectations and opportunities for younger generations in banking.
Khulna University Student Affairs Director Md Salauddin, the special guest, called for more customer-friendly and effective banking initiatives. He said such programmes could help students understand the workplace and financial sector while preparing for their careers.
The programme combined financial education with career preparation. Prime Bank Talent Acquisition and Organisation Development Head Monowara Khatun conducted a mock interview session, while Prime Bank Regional Head (South) Mostafa Mhamud delivered the opening remarks.
Students also participated in a career discussion and question-and-answer session, with outstanding participants receiving prizes. Khulna University Career Club President Ruhul Amin Munna delivered the closing remarks.
The programme reflects an effort to make financial literacy more practical by connecting money-management lessons with career planning and direct exposure to the banking profession.
