The series premiered in 2020 and quickly became one of the most talked-about Indian crime thrillers on streaming platforms. Its second season arrived in 2023.

Oni Sen directed the first two seasons, while Shukla served as the show’s creator. The upcoming season will therefore mark a new chapter for the franchise with Shukla reportedly stepping into the director’s chair.

Arshad had previously confirmed that Asur 3 was in development.

In an interview with Mid-Day, the actor said the team was working on the shooting schedule and that the series would be his next project. “I am yet to read the script, but verbally we know that it’s happening,” he said.

The first season of Asur was released on Voot, while the second season streamed on JioCinema.

Meanwhile, Arshad was last seen in Dhamaal 4, alongside Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh, Jaaved Jaaferi and Sanjay Mishra.

He will next appear in Golmaal 5, which also stars Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Sharman Joshi, Shreyas Talpade and Tusshar Kapoor.

Although the film was earlier rumoured to release in December, the makers have denied the speculation.
