Grameenphone’s MyGP app has grown to more than 23 million users over the past decade, becoming one of Bangladesh’s largest digital platforms as the telecom operator expands beyond connectivity into payments, entertainment and lifestyle services.
Launched in 2016 as a self-service application, MyGP now brings together more than 99 per cent of Grameenphone’s products and services on a single platform, the company said on Thursday as it marked the app’s 10th anniversary.
The operator said the platform has evolved through artificial intelligence-powered personalisation, offering tailored data packs, Flexiplan, cashback, bonus offers, GP Points and GP Star benefits alongside digital payment and financial services.
Beyond telecom services, the app allows customers to manage linked family accounts, activate international roaming in both taka and US dollars, and access digital subscriptions and entertainment content, including Netflix, Hoichoi, Chorki and iTunes. It also offers religious services through its Ibadah feature, including prayer reminders and Sehri and Iftar schedules.
To mark the anniversary, Grameenphone announced promotional offers for eligible MyGP users, including up to 10GB of bonus internet and a chance to win an iPhone 17 Pro, alongside other rewards.
Grameenphone Chief Product Officer Solaiman Alam said MyGP had evolved alongside changing customer expectations, with a focus on making digital experiences simpler, smarter and more relevant.
He said the company continued to invest in artificial intelligence-driven personalisation, intelligent recommendations and lifestyle-based services.
“Today, MyGP is far more than a telecom app; it is a digital companion that empowers customers to connect, transact, access entertainment and manage their digital lives seamlessly from a single platform,” Alam said.
The platform’s growth reflects the telecom operator’s broader strategy of expanding digital services beyond traditional mobile connectivity as customer demand increasingly shifts towards integrated digital ecosystems.
