Adverse weather conditions have disrupted the delivery of scheduled Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) cargoes to the Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) at Moheshkhali, leading to a significant drop in gas pressure across the country.
In an emergency notice issued on Tuesday, Petrobangla stated that regasified LNG (RLNG) supply from the terminal has decreased by approximately 300 million cubic feet per day (mmcfd).
The state-run organisation explained that the delivery and unloading of LNG from the designated cargo could not be initiated due to the hostile weather. As a result, RLNG supply to the national grid has fallen considerably.
Petrobangla cautioned that consumers across all categories – including residential, commercial, and industrial sectors – will experience low gas pressure until weather conditions improve.
The agency expressed its sincere regret for the temporary inconvenience caused to its customers. It further assured that efforts to restore normal LNG supply would be undertaken as soon as the weather clears.
