EDOTCO Bangladesh has appointed Al Batuni Mohammad Sayed Ahmed as its Country Managing Director (CMD) in Dhaka on 30 June 2026, reinforcing its strategy to strengthen local leadership and expand digital infrastructure as Bangladesh advances its connectivity ambitions, the company said in a press release.
The appointment follows the departure of Sunil Issac, under whose leadership EDOTCO Bangladesh expanded its nationwide tower footprint and market presence, the company said, adding that the leadership transition is aimed at supporting its next phase of growth in shared telecom infrastructure.
Al Batuni brings more than 20 years of experience in telecommunications and digital services, including nearly 17 years at Ericsson in senior leadership roles focused on network transformation and digital modernisation. Most recently, he served as Director of Strategy and Transformation at EDOTCO Bangladesh, where he worked on operational efficiency and long-term growth initiatives.
EDOTCO Group Chief Executive Officer Adlan Tajudin said Bangladesh remains a key market for the group and a central driver of its long-term strategy. He added that Al Batuni’s experience in telecom ecosystems and transformation aligns with the company’s focus on infrastructure sharing, innovation and sustainable growth.
Al Batuni Mohammad Sayed Ahmed said he aims to build on the company’s existing platform and work with stakeholders to strengthen digital infrastructure, accelerate inclusive connectivity and support Bangladesh’s economic and digital development goals.
The company currently manages close to 17,000 towers and supports more than 28,000 tenancies across Bangladesh, playing a central role in national telecom connectivity expansion.
