The Israeli Defence Forces (Israel Defense Forces) have carried out strikes on “several targets” at an Iranian petrochemical facility in Mahshahr in south-west Iran.

Both the IDF and Iranian state media confirmed the attack. Iranian outlets reported that the complex, located near the northern coast of the Persian Gulf, sustained partial damage, reports BBC.

Iranian media further said that more details regarding the extent of the damage and “possible casualties” will be released later.

Iran later targeted two Israeli air bases, Iranian state media reports.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps) said it has targeted the Nevatim and Tel Nof air bases, according to reports by the Islamic Republic News Agency.

The IRGC said the operation was conducted in response to Israeli missile strikes “against several radar sites in three locations” in Iran.
