Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is expected to visit China in the last week of June, with both Dhaka and Beijing working to finalise preparations for a proposed trip between 23 and 26 June.
Diplomatic sources said Beijing sent a proposed schedule on Sunday, suggesting possible dates for the visit. Dhaka is now working on the proposal.
Ahead of the Prime Minister’s visit, Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman visited China earlier this month. During his meeting with the Chinese Foreign Minister, both sides pledged to advance bilateral ties and expand practical cooperation.
Discussions also covered investment, energy cooperation, people-to-people contact, trade expansion, and wider regional and global issues.
According to a Samakal report, a Foreign Ministry official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told that Beijing sent the proposal for a visit on 23 June through a note verbale. Dhaka is currently working on it.
