Iran has characterised its ongoing peace negotiations with the United States as having reached a critical juncture, signaling intensified diplomatic activity in Tehran.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei emphasised that the current diplomatic momentum, combined with the presence of senior Pakistani officials in the Iranian capital, reflects a decisive stage in the talks.

“The current process and the presence of senior Pakistani officials in Tehran means that we have reached a turning point or a decisive situation,” Baghaei said at a press briefing, Al Jazeera reports.

Reaffirming Iran’s stance on its nuclear program, Baghaei stressed that the country remains firmly committed to its obligations and rights under the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT).

“Regarding nuclear issues, the matter is very clear – we are a member of the NPT and we have the right to use nuclear energy for peaceful purposes,” he added.

This statement highlights Iran’s insistence on its sovereign right to pursue civilian nuclear energy while navigating complex diplomatic exchanges with Washington and regional stakeholders.
