The Entomology Division of Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI) began a three-day workshop on “Integrated Pest Management and Biopesticide use” on 19 May 2026, at its seminar room, said a BARI spokesperson. The session was presided over by Chief Scientific Officer Nirmal Kumar Dutta, with BARI Director General Muhammad Ataur Rahman attending as chief guest. The program was moderated by Senior Scientific Officer Md Kafil Uddin.
Special guests included BARI Director (Training and Communication) Reshma Sultana, APD (Partner, APCU-BARC) Md Ashraful Alam, and Bangladesh Country Representative of CABI Md Saleh Ahmed. Chief Scientific Officer Kohinoor Begum delivered the welcome address, said a press statement. International delegates from various organisations, pesticide management company representatives, and senior scientists from BARI divisions also attended. The workshop is funded by the APCU-BARC partner project in collaboration with CABI and aims to promote effective pest management practices and biopesticide usage.
