Shares of Saiham Textile Mills fell sharply on Tuesday, declining 9.75 per cent despite the company disclosing an ‘AA-’ long-term credit rating with a stable outlook.
The stock closed at Tk28.70, down Tk3.10 from the previous session’s closing price of Tk31.80. It opened at Tk32.00 and traded between Tk28.70 and Tk32.00 during the session.
A total of 40.9 lakh shares changed hands through 2,534 trades, generating a turnover of Tk12.19 crore.
At the closing price, the company’s market capitalisation stood at Tk288 crore. Its share price has ranged between Tk13.70 and Tk38.30 over the past 52 weeks.
Earlier, National Credit Ratings Limited assigned Saiham Textile Mills an ‘AA-’ long-term surveillance entity rating and an ‘ST-2’ short-term rating, with a stable outlook.
The assessment was based on the company’s audited financial statements as of 30 June 2025.
