Nahid Rana flew to Pakistan from Dhaka on Wednesday afternoon to join Peshawar Zalmi for the Pakistan Super League final after the Bangladesh Cricket Board gave him fresh clearance.
The young pacer had returned home on April 14 after playing in the first phase of the PSL. At that time, the BCB had decided not to issue another No Objection Certificate for the rest of the tournament.
That decision has now changed.
The board has allowed Nahid to return for the final, calling it an important chance in his career and development.
Nahid will play the final for Peshawar Zalmi and return to Bangladesh on May 3.
He is currently resting during Bangladesh’s ongoing T20I series against New Zealand.
In a statement, the BCB said, “This decision has been made considering the importance of participating in the final of a major global franchise league, which is viewed as an important step in Nahid Rana’s continued development.”
The board also said, “More importantly, the team management and BCB medical team have cleared him and confirmed that taking part in this match will not have any negative impact on his fitness, workload management, or availability for national team duties.”
The decision has already pleased Peshawar Zalmi.
The franchise owner sent a message to thank BCB president Tamim Iqbal for allowing Nahid to return for the final.
