A total of 38,578 Bangladeshi Hajj pilgrims have arrived in Saudi Arabia through 96 flights.
Director of the Bangladesh Hajj Office Md Lokman Hossain said on Wednesday that 96 Hajj flights from Bangladesh had landed in Jeddah by 10am.
According to the Hajj bulletin, seven pilgrims have died so far. Authorities said the deaths were natural. Five died in Makkah and two in Medina.
The bulletin said Saudi medical teams provided treatment to 4,486 pilgrims, while the IT Helpdesk delivered medical services to 8,198 pilgrims.
Lokman Hossain said a total of 78,500 Bangladeshi pilgrims have been approved to perform Hajj this year. Of them, 660 agencies are managing Hajj operations under private arrangement, including 30 lead agencies and 630 coordinating agencies.
According to the Hajj Office, 17,755 pilgrims travelled on 43 flights of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, 13,681 on 35 flights of Saudi Airlines and 7,142 on 18 flights of Flynas Airlines.
The remaining 39,748 pilgrims are expected to arrive gradually through designated airlines, the director added.
The first Hajj flight, carrying 418 pilgrims from Dhaka, was inaugurated on 17 April by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
Of the total pilgrims, 4,565 will perform Hajj under government management, while 73,935 will travel under private arrangements, according to the Hajj Office.
The Saudi Embassy in Dhaka has issued 78,297 visas so far, including 4,419 under government management and 73,878 under private management.
Subject to moon sighting, the holy Hajj is expected to be held in Saudi Arabia on May 26.
