Among them, five people died in Gaibandha, two each in Thakurgaon, Sirajganj and Jamalpur, and one each in Panchagarh, Bogura and Natore.
On the day, rain with lightning was reported in parts of Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, including Dhaka.
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department said the situation of rain accompanied by lightning may continue for the remaining days of the month.
Gaibandha
Five people have died in lightning strikes in Sundarganj, Fulchhari and Saghatta of Gaibandha.
In Dhopadanga village of Sundarganj upazila, Fuad Chowdhury (10), Rafi Chowdhury (15) and Mizan Mia (20) died on the spot after being struck by lightning while standing on a road beside their home.
Dhopadanga Union Parishad Chairman Mokleshur Rahman Mondol said one person named Shamim Mia was injured in the incident and a cow was also killed.
Meanwhile, in Deluabari char of Fulchhari union, Manik Mia (25) died while transporting hay on a horse cart, and in Helencha village of Saghatta, Number Ali (65) died while checking on goats after being struck by lightning.
Fulchhari Union Parishad Chairman Azharul Hannan and Bonarpara Union Parishad Chairman Nasirul Alam confirmed the deaths.
Panchagarh
A worker named Sohrawardy (25) has died after being struck by lightning while cutting tea leaves in Sonapatila village of Atwari upazila.
Two others, Mostafa and Zaherul Islam, were injured in the incident.
Atwari Police Station Officer-in-Charge Matiar Rahman said the body has been handed over to the family after legal procedures, and an unnatural death case has been filed.
Sirajganj
Two farmers have died in Tarash and Raiganj upazilas.
Tarash Police Station Officer-in-Charge Habibur Rahman said Abdul Hamid (50) died after being struck by lightning while working in a field in Batrashin village.
Raiganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge Ahsanuzzaman said Hasan Ali (24) was critically injured by lightning while working in his yard and was declared dead after being taken to hospital.
Jamalpur
Two people have died in lightning strikes in Jamalpur Sadar and Melandah, said Additional Superintendent of Police Crime and Ops Yahia Al Mamun.
Hasmat Ali (45) died while bringing cattle from a field in Char Jatharthapur area of Sadar, while Marzina Akter (21) died while cooking in the yard in Koraichura village of Melandah.
Another housewife, Shefali Begum, was injured in the incident.
Bogura
A young man named Suman (35) has died after being struck by lightning while bringing goats during rain in Muchikhali village of Gabtoli upazila.
Gabtoli Police Station Investigation Officer Abu Musa said police visited the scene after receiving the report, and an unnatural death case will be filed.
Natore
A worker named Samrat Hossain (26) has died after being struck by lightning while harvesting paddy in Thenga Pakuria village of Singra upazila.
He had come from Shahjadpur in Sirajganj for harvesting work. He was taken to hospital in a critical condition, where doctors declared him dead.
Thakurgaon
Laboni Akter (35) died while returning home after cutting grass in Niamatpur of Pirganj upazila, while Ilias Ali (37) died after being struck by lightning while checking crops in Koshadangipara.
Pirganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Mazharul Islam said unnatural death cases have been filed in the incidents.
