Family members and eyewitnesses said the children had gone to the madrasa as usual early in the morning. While returning, they were playing near a pit dug for brick kiln operations and accidentally fell in.
Passersby rushed to rescue them and took them to a local doctor, who declared both children dead.

Local residents alleged that unplanned excavation for brick kilns had created numerous deep pits throughout the area, posing a long-standing safety hazard.
Accidents in these pits reportedly happen frequently.

Bhujpur Police Officer-in-Charge Bipul Chandra De said police inspected the site. The families requested burial without a post-mortem.

No complaints have yet been filed against any brick kiln owners, but legal action will be taken if allegations arise.
