Mohammad Touqir Islam’ ‘Delupi’ is set to continue its international festival run with a screening in Vienna later this month.
The film has been selected for the Red Lotus Asian Film Festival Vienna 2026, scheduled to take place from April 23 to 26.
As part of the programme, Delupi will be screened on April 25 at the historic Stadtkino, offering European audiences another opportunity to engage with contemporary Bangladeshi storytelling.
The selection follows the film’s earlier screening at the International Film Festival Rotterdam 2026, where it drew positive responses from both viewers and critics. Its inclusion in Vienna marks a second major European festival appearance this year.
Directed by Mohammad Tauqir Islam and produced under Footprint Film Production, Delupi reflects a grounded, locally rooted narrative style. Drawing inspiration from life in Deluti Union of Paikgachha in Khulna, the film weaves a fictional story shaped by everyday experiences, relationships and social realities.
The production is notable for its strong local involvement, from casting to filming, reinforcing its authenticity. The upcoming screening is also expected to attract members of the Bangladeshi diaspora in Austria, alongside international cinephiles.
