A total of 147 flights from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport to various destinations in the Middle East have been cancelled over a four-day period following the outbreak of war in Iran.
According to airport authorities, the cancellations began on Saturday, leaving thousands of passengers facing significant disruption and uncertainty.
In a statement issued on Monday, authorities noted that the deteriorating security situation led to the closure of airspace in Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar, and Jordan starting Saturday.
Airport figures reveal a steady increase in flight disruptions throughout the period.
On Saturday, the first day of the conflict, 23 flights were initially suspended and subsequently cancelled. This was followed by 40 cancellations on Sunday and 46 on Monday. By Tuesday, an additional 38 flights were cancelled, bringing the grand total to 147.

Air Arabia: 12 flights
Qatar Airways: 4 flights
Emirates: 4 flights
Gulf Air (Bahrain): 4 flights
flydubai: 4 flights
Jazeera Airways (Kuwait): 4 flights
US-Bangla Airlines (Bangladesh): 4 flights
Kuwait Airways: 2 flights
The cancelled services also included flights operated by Biman Bangladesh Airlines and SalamAir. Authorities confirmed that the widespread cancellations were a direct result of the regional airspace closures implemented due to the ongoing security crisis.
