The International Crimes Tribunal-2 on Tuesday deferred the recording of defence witness testimony in the crimes against former Information Minister and Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (Jasad) president Hasanul Haq Inu.
The tribunal, led by Justice Nazrul Islam Chowdhury, fixed 22 February for the next hearing after the defence failed to produce any witnesses on 17 February.
The prosecution began placing its evidence on 1 December last year, following the submission of eight specific charges on 25 September, which the tribunal took into cognisance the same day.
The prosecution has already concluded its witness testimony.
Hasanul Haq Inu, a former Information Minister during the Awami League government, was arrested on August 26, 2024, and later shown arrested in the case over the killing of six people in Kushtia during the July-August 2024 mass uprising.
In the 12th parliamentary election, he contested as a grand alliance candidate from Kushtia but was defeated by an Awami League rebel candidate.
