Pubali Bank PLC initiated a cashless Lalmatia Rally on February 8 in Lalmatia of Dhaka.
The event aimed to promote the Bangla QR code service by raising awareness on the cashless transaction system in Bangladesh.
Arif Hossain Khan, executive director and spokesperson of Bangladesh Bank, attended chief guest, while Mohammad Ali, managing director and CEO of Pubali Bank, was present as guest of honour.
Md Shahnewaz Khan, deputy managing director of Pubali Bank, attended as a special guest.
Md Faizul Hoque Sharif, general manager of the bank’s head office, AKM Abdur Raqib, regional head and general manager for Dhaka north, Md Rabiul Alam, deputy general manager and head of alternative delivery channels, and Md Alamgir, president of the Lalmatia C-Block Jame Mosque and Madrasa Complex, were among others present.
Khan stated that Bangladesh Bank continues to work on expanding the modern technology-based banking system, highlighting how institutions like Pubali Bank play an active role at the grassroots level to encourage customers.
He said digital and cashless transactions greatly contributes to the country’s economic progress, adding that the digital transaction system not only makes financial activities faster and more efficient but also ensures transparency and accountability.
Ali discussed the significant benefits of digital and cashless transactions, emphasising their role in saving time, reducing costs, and building a transparent and secure financial system.
