The chiefs of the armed forces visited Gazipur on Tuesday to coordinate security preparations for the upcoming 13th parliamentary election and referendum.
Chief of Army Staff General Waker‑Uz‑Zaman, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral M Nazmul Hassan, and Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan attended a meeting at the Bangladesh Rice Research Institute (BRRI).
Senior military officials, along with representatives from the civil administration and law enforcement agencies of Gazipur, Narsingdi, and Narayanganj districts, were also present at the meeting.
The discussion focused on strengthening inter‑institutional coordination and implementing comprehensive security measures to ensure the national election is conducted in a peaceful, neutral, and fair manner.
The chiefs emphasised performing all duties with the highest standards of professionalism, neutrality, discipline, patience, and a citizen‑friendly approach.
They also observed field activities of the armed forces deployed under the “In Aid to the Civil Power” framework and issued necessary directives.
