BNP Chairperson Tarique Rahman will take part in election campaigns in two south-western cities, Khulna and Jashore, today. He is scheduled to address rallies in both cities.
The party arranged the programme following the chairperson’s campaign tours in the country’s northern region.
According to the itinerary, today, at 11:00am, Tarique Rahman will leave Dhaka for Khulna by helicopter, said the BNP media cell.
Tarique will attend a public rally at noon at the Probati School ground adjacent to Haji Mohsin College. After the first rally, he will leave Khulna by helicopter in the afternoon for Jashore. Around 2:00pm, he will address another election rally at the Birampur Adarsha Government Primary School ground in the New Township area. Following the second rally, he will return to Dhaka by helicopter later in the afternoon.
Tarique began his election campaign on 22 January from Sylhet Alia Madrasa. He subsequently held election rallies in Moulvibazar, Habiganj, Brahmanbaria, Kishoreganj, Narsingdi and Narayanganj. On 25 January, he launched another phase of his campaign from Chattogram, from where he addressed rallies in Feni, Chauddagram in Cumilla, Sonagazi, Daudkandi and Narayanganj. He then began his northern tour on 29 January.
During the three-day northern tour, Tarique Rahman addressed election rallies in Rajshahi, Naogaon, Bogura, Rangpur, Sirajganj and Tangail before returning to Dhaka on Saturday.
Between 22 and 31 January, Tarique Rahman spoke at a total of 19 public rallies.
