The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has once again increased gold prices in the local market. With a sharp hike of Tk5,249 per bhori, the new price of 22-carat gold has been set at Tk262,440 per bhori, the highest in the country’s history.
BAJUS announced the latest gold price in a notice issued late Monday, which will take effect from Tuesday.
According to the revised rates, the price of 22-carat gold per bhori (11.664 grams) is now Tk262,440. Meanwhile, 21-carat gold per bhori will cost Tk250,484, 18-carat gold Tk214,734, and traditional gold Tk176,593.
Previously, on Sunday, the price of 22-carat gold per bhori was Tk257,191.
This marks the 14th adjustment of gold prices in the domestic market this year, with 11 hikes and only three reductions. In contrast, last year BAJUS adjusted gold prices 93 times, including 64 increases.
Additionally, in 2025, gold prices were reduced 29 times.
