A Dhaka court has ordered the seizure of property belonging to Shahreen Akter Shilpi, wife of Syed Abed Ali, over allegations of acquiring unexplained wealth in the ongoing question paper leak case.

The seized assets include 148 decimals of land and two flats in Mirpur. Her car worth Tk33 lakh and four bank accounts holding Tk11.13 lakh have also been frozen, according to the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
The total value of the properties has been estimated at Tk1.63 crore.
The order was issued on Monday by Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Sabbir Faiz following an application by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
Bench assistant Riaz Hossain confirmed the development.
The case investigation officer, ACC Deputy Director Zakir Hossain, applied for the seizure of immovable property and the freezing of movable assets.
The ACC’s petition stated that the accused, Shahreen Akter Shilpi, had acquired immovable and movable assets in her name. There is a possibility of transfer, relocation, or alteration of ownership of these properties through deeds or other means.
For the interest of a proper investigation, it is essential to seize the immovable assets and freeze the movable assets registered under her name.
