Southeast Bank PLC recently organised its “Annual Agent Banking Conference 2026” for the Dhaka Zone, bringing together key stakeholders to review progress and discuss future strategies.
MA Kashem, Chairman of Southeast Bank PLC, attended the conference as the chief guest, while Md Khalid Mahmood Khan, managing director of the bank, participated as a special guest, according to a press release.
The conference saw participation from all 84 agent partners operating Southeast Bank’s Agent Banking outlets in the Dhaka Zone.
Senior executives from the head office and heads of tagged branches also attended, making the event a significant platform for knowledge sharing and collaboration.
During the conference, participants reviewed the overall progress of the Agent Banking Division for the year 2025.
Discussions were held on policies and strategies aimed at achieving the division’s business goals for 2026.
Southeast Bank launched its Agent Banking service, “SHAGOTOM,” on 7 March, 2021, with the objective of expanding banking services to unbanked populations, including small entrepreneurs, school banking clients, and farmers.
The initiative aims to promote financial inclusion and extend banking services across the country.
Through Agent Banking “Shagotom,” Southeast Bank offers both Conventional and ‘Tijarah’-Islamic banking services. Customers can access a wide range of facilities, including account opening (savings/current), cash deposit and withdrawal, fund transfer, BEFTN and RTGS cash transfers, foreign remittance collection, cheque book, debit card and credit card processing, micro, medium, and Krishi loans, utility bill payments, loan installment collection, government allowance distribution, regular customer loans, and internet banking services.
Customers can also carry out necessary banking transactions round the clock through Recycler ATMs located at the Agent Banking outlets.
