Ashik Khan said Osman Hadi was not merely an individual but a symbol of protest and resistance of the time, whose uncompromising stance against injustice, Indian hegemony, fascism and repression continues to inspire the younger generation.

He said the main objective of the book fair is to present Osman Hadi’s life, ideals and struggles to the new generation, awaken a spirit of resistance through reading and reflection, and establish books as an effective tool of resistance and free thought.

The fair will feature book stalls from various publishers, along with commemorative discussions, seminars, interactive sessions involving young writers and readers, and special programmes highlighting Osman Hadi’s life and struggles, he said.

Speaking at the event, Musaddiq Ali Ibne Mohammad said the initiative aims to carry forward the cultural struggle associated with Shaheed Sharif Osman Hadi.

He said the organisers plan to continue holding the memorial book fair regularly every year.
