The Global Bangladeshi Alliance was founded with a focused mission: to revitalise the Bangladesh Caucus abroad and to advance strategic engagement in areas that will define Bangladesh’s future. While focusing on political and policy research and development, they are also prioritising trade, technology, innovation, the new economy, affordable healthcare, and arts and culture. The company believes that sustainable national progress cannot be achieved without informed policy dialogue, credible institutions, and trusted global partnerships.
As a U.S.-based policy research and development organisation, GBA brings together professionals, subject-matter experts, and civic leaders who share a common purpose: to contribute constructively and responsibly to Bangladesh’s long-term democratic and economic trajectory.
From my own professional journey – as an IT executive, a technology expert, and an alumnus of MIT – I have observed how innovation, governance, and economic growth are deeply interconnected. These experiences have reinforced my belief that diaspora expertise, when strategically organised and policy-driven, can play a meaningful role in national development.
As a former congressional candidate and as someone actively engaged with political and civic institutions in the United States, GBA and I have had the opportunity to engage members of Congress and state-level leaders on Bangladesh-related issues. We can say with confidence that there is genuine interest, particularly around policy dialogue, trade, technology partnerships, workforce development, and economic cooperation. This engagement was further demonstrated by our ability to secure a New York State proclamation honoring the late Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia within just a couple of days’ notice, reflecting both the credibility of GBA and the respect accorded to Bangladesh’s democratic leadership. Several leaders are already engaged, and many are prepared to do more through structured and credible channels.
This is why platforms like GBA and today’s policy dialogues are essential. They create space for serious conversation, allow for trust-building, and help align global expertise with national priorities in a responsible and non-partisan manner. Looking ahead, GBA remains focused on expanding policy research, strengthening international advocacy, and building partnerships that translate dialogue into measurable outcomes.
