The registration period via “Postal Vote BD” app in 13th national election and national referendum has ended. The deadline concluded at 12am on Tuesday.
Election Commission (EC) said a total of 15,33,682 people have registered to vote. Among them, 7,61,140 registered from within the country. This includes 5,75,200 government employees, 1,69,642 individuals assigned election duties, 10,010 members of Ansar-VDP, and 6,283 registered to vote from prisons.
Among expatriates, the highest number of registrations came from Saudi Arabia, with 2,39,186 enrollees. Expatriates living in 123 countries have registered to vote by the app.
Registration abroad began on 19 November through the app. Through this, alongside expatriate Bangladeshi voters, three categories of individuals within the country could register: persons assigned election duties, government employees working outside their constituencies, and voters in legal custody (prisons) can vote the app.
After the allocation of symbols on 21 January, registered voters will be able to vote for their preferred candidate in their respective constituencies, and return mail can be sent from the following day.
Using digital platforms, they will cast their postal ballot by marking a “tick” symbol next to the name and symbol of their chosen candidate from constituency-based candidate lists.
EC has published the final voter list, which includes those who turned 18 by 31 October, 2025. According to the final count, the total number of voters is 12,76,95,183. This includes 6,48,14,907 male voters, 6,28,79,042 female voters, and 1,234 voters of the third gender.
