Singer Jens Sumon, best known for ‘Ekta Chador Hobe’, passed away on November 28 at age 45. Four days after his death, music label G-Series released a new track titled Keu Janlo Na Keu Bujhlo Na. The lyrics are by Faruk Asad, with composition and arrangement by Amit Kor.
G-Series adviser Isha Khan Durre said Jens Sumon had recorded several songs over the past few months. Those tracks will be released gradually. “There are more songs he has finished. Even the day before he died, we discussed music late into the night,” he said.
Jens Sumon’s full name was Galib Ahsan Mehdi. Born in Shariatpur in 1979, he grew up in Dhaka. His first solo album, ‘Ashirbad’, came out in 1997. In 2002, after his song Ekta Chador Hobe aired on a BTV magazine show, he became widely known. His final album, Mon Cholo Ruper Nagore, was released in 2008.
After a 16-year break, he returned to music in 2024. Under the G-Series banner, he released Asman Jomin. At the time, he said he was starting again from scratch and planned to release new songs regularly. But the comeback was short-lived.
