The website of Evaly, a controversial e-commerce platform in Bangladesh, was hacked on 24 May 2025. Visitors to the site were met with a message claiming that the hacker had access to all customer data and demanding contact from Evaly staff.

The message, written in capital letters,  “HACKED, I HAVE ALL CUSTOMER DATA. EVALY STAFF PLEASE CONTACT 00watch@proton.me.” It also included a warning: “OR ELSE I WILL RELEASE THIS DATA TO THE PUBLIC.”

It is not yet confirmed what specific data was accessed or if any personal or financial information was compromised. Evaly has not released an official statement on the incident.

The hacking incident comes shortly after legal action against Evaly’s top officials. On 13 April 2025, a Dhaka court sentenced Evaly’s Managing Director Mohammad Rassel and Chairperson Shamima Nasrin to three years in prison for fraud. The case was filed by a customer who paid BDT 12.37 lakh for five motorcycles that were never delivered.

Arrest warrants were issued, and both were fined Tk 5,000 each.
