The Career Development Seminar, GritQuest, was held last Friday and Saturday at the International Conference Hall of the Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT).
Organised with the aim of enhancing students’ professional skills, corporate readiness, leadership qualities, and contemporary market knowledge, the two-day event provided practical guidance and inspiration for participating students, according to a press release.
On the first day, the session titled “A Journey of Passion, Perseverance, and Achievement” featured Mohammad Ali, General Manager of ACI Consumer Brand, as the keynote speaker.
He shared valuable insights on brand management, market leadership, and strategic decision-making.
Students gained an understanding of branding trends, consumer behaviour, creative strategies in a competitive market, and the importance of leadership skills in their careers.
The second day’s seminar, “GritQuest (Session 04)”, was addressed by Syed Johirul Alam Rumon, Director & CEO of Akij Food & Beverage and Akij Dairy.
Drawing from his extensive corporate experience, he emphasised the importance of professional grooming, corporate etiquette, punctuality, discipline, positive behaviour, and communication skills.
He shared practical examples from his career, offering guidance on how students can develop habits that create a positive impression and open opportunities in their professional journeys.
The session witnessed active participation from students, who engaged in discussions, asked relevant questions, and sought practical advice on interviews, workplace expectations, and career preparedness.
The seminar concluded successfully, leaving participants motivated and better equipped for their future professional endeavours.
