Bangladesh Honda Private Limited has launched the Honda Futsal League (HFL) 2025 at the Carnival Hall of the Bangladesh–China Friendship Conference Center (BCFCC), marking the beginning of a youth-centred football initiative, according to a press release.
The opening ceremony featured a message from Moto Honda da Amazonia Ltda (MHDAM) and the presentation of a Brazil national team jersey signed by Neymar Jr to national football team captain Jamal Bhuiyan.
The organisers said the gesture reflects Honda’s intention to inspire young football fans across the country.
Logos of the 32 participating teams were unveiled as part of the formal announcement of the tournament.
This year’s edition is built around the Honda Sports Challenge (HSC) under the themes Joy, Growth and Connected to promote greater sports engagement among young people.
Jamal Bhuiyan attended the session as chief guest, receiving the Neymar-signed jersey on behalf of Bangladesh Honda Private Limited from managing director and CEO Susumu Morisawa and chief marketing officer Shah Muhammad Ashequr Rahman.
Bangladesh Honda said renewed interest in football encouraged the company to introduce the initiative to help young people engage with the sport at higher standards.
MHDAM representatives joined the event online to express support for Bangladeshi football and its fans.
The inauguration and trophy unveiling ceremony brought together senior officials of Bangladesh Honda Private Limited, dealers, university representatives, club members, journalists and football supporters.
“I am truly delighted to be part of this vibrant programme and honoured to receive a jersey autographed by Neymar Jr,” said Jamal Bhuiyan, adding that the initiative will motivate young football fans nationwide.
Bangladesh Honda Private Limited chief marketing officer Shah Muhammad Ashequr Rahman said the league celebrates the shared spirit of passion and performance that connects motorcycles and football.
