Three buses and a private car were set on fire at separate locations in Dhaka early Tuesday.

Two buses of Raida Paribahan were burned in Jatrabari and Uttara Sonargaon Janapath areas around 1am and 4am respectively, said Rashed Bin Khalid, duty officer of the control room at Fire Service and Civil Defence.

Another bus, belonging to Rajdhani Paribahan, was set ablaze in Rayerbagh around 2am, the official added. All three buses had been parked by the roadside, official Rashed said.

Meanwhile, miscreants torched a car on the 100 Feet Road near the main gate of Bashundhara at 2:35am.

Firefighters rushed to the scenes and extinguished the blazes shortly after receiving the information.

No casualties have been reported so far.

Several incidents of arson attacks on buses and crude bomb explosions occurred in Dhaka on Monday, ahead of the “lockdown” programme announced by Awami League, whose activities are banned.

On Monday, a total of three buses were torched in Dhaka city, and ten bomb blasts were reported at various locations. Law enforcement agencies have implemented strict security measures.
