The fire that broke out at a building in Dhaka’s Karwan Bazar has been brought under control.
The blaze erupted around 7:45am Tuesday at the EDB Trade Center on Kazi Nazrul Islam Avenue.
According to Tejgaon Fire Service officials, the fire originated in a kitchen on the eighth floor of the 15‑storey building, which houses a private old‑age home.
Everyone inside was safely evacuated immediately after the fire started, the Fire Service confirmed.
The building accommodates several media outlets along with commercial establishments.
