Amitabh Bachchan has shared a light-hearted detail about his married life with Jaya Bachchan while hosting Kaun Banega Crorepati 18, writes NDTV.

In an upcoming episode, a contestant asks Amitabh whether he has ever had to wait for Jaya while she gets ready for an event. The veteran actor calls it an interesting question before revealing the simple method he uses to make sure they arrive on time.

Amitabh says he sometimes gives Jaya an earlier time than the actual schedule. For example, if they have to attend a wedding where the procession is expected at 6pm, he tells her that it will arrive at 5pm.

According to him, the earlier time prompts Jaya to start getting ready sooner. He says she usually begins her preparations around 3.30pm or 4pm, allowing them to leave on time.

“Whenever we have to go somewhere, a time is fixed, like the wedding procession will arrive at 6 in the evening,” Amitabh explains.

“I tell her that the wedding procession will arrive at 5. So her preparations begin around 3.30pm or 4pm, and we reach the event on time,” he adds.

This is not the first time Amitabh has spoken about Jaya on Kaun Banega Crorepati 18. In an earlier episode, another contestant asked him whether Jaya gets upset when he returns home late.

Amitabh said Jaya does not take it well when he arrives late without informing the family. To avoid such situations, he keeps his family updated about his work commitments.

The actor said he sends a message to the family group whenever a shoot is likely to keep him out late. He also tells them not to wait for him before having dinner.

According to Amitabh, this advance notice helps prevent misunderstandings. If he comes home late without giving the family any information, Jaya asks where he was and why he did not inform them.

On those occasions, she does not wait for him to return. Instead, she has dinner and goes to bed.

Amitabh and Jaya first met while working on Guddi in 1971. They married in 1973 and later welcomed two children, daughter Shweta Bachchan and son Abhishek Bachchan.
