The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has issued emergency directives to six government hospitals to ensure immediate medical treatment for patients transferred from Ad-Din Women’s Medical College Hospital.
This move follows the cancellation of the licence of the private medical institution, located in the capital’s Maghbazar area.
The directive was issued on Friday through an office order signed by Dr Abu Hussain Md Moinul Ahsan, Director (Hospitals and Clinics) of the DGHS, with the approval of the Director General.
According to the order, the decision to cancel the licence of Ad-Din Women’s Medical College Hospital was made on 11 June 2026. The DGHS emphasised that immediate and proper medical care must be ensured for patients referred or transferred from the facility to mitigate potential health risks.
The six hospitals instructed to take urgent measures to accommodate these patients are:
- Dhaka Medical College Hospital
- Sir Salimullah Medical College Hospital
- Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital
- Mugda Medical College Hospital
- Kurmitola General Hospital
- Bangladesh Shishu Hospital and Institute
DGHS sources stated that the directors of these respective hospitals have been asked to make necessary preparations and take swift action to ensure that medical services for the transferred patients remain uninterrupted.
