Chattogram district administration has appointed 42 executive magistrates across the division’s 16 parliamentary seats to enforce electoral regulations for the upcoming 13th national election.

District Commissioner and District Magistrate Md Zahidul Islam Miah issued the official directive on Friday evening. The order mandates the officers to operate mobile courts within their assigned jurisdictions to ensure the electoral process remains free, fair, and credible.

According to the administrative breakdown, 12 of these magistrates have been assigned to cover the six constituencies within Chattogram city and its adjoining areas. The remaining 30 officers will oversee electoral law enforcement in the ten constituencies of the Chattogram district.

Chattogram Regional Election Officer Md Belayet Hossain Chowdhury emphasised that the mobile courts are tasked with guaranteeing strict adherence to the Election Commission’s code of conduct by all stakeholders, particularly the candidates contesting the polls.

Additional District Magistrate Syed Mahbubul Haque informed the media that the designated executive magistrates commenced their duties from Friday. Their enforcement activities will continue until 14 February which is two days following the election date.
