The Bangladesh Army conducted helicopter patrolling and security drills at a polling centre in Munshiganj on Monday ahead of polls.

The exercise took place at the Shahid Muktijodda Nazrul Islam High School polling centre in Char Bausia, led by the Gajaria army camp.

During the drill, Lieutenant Colonel Akib Javed, commanding officer (CO) of 19 Bir, Mawa Cantonment, said army personnel can reach remote and char (river island) area polling centres within seven to eight minutes via helicopter if required.

He further emphasised that there is no scope for any chaos or attempts to disrupt the polls, noting that all necessary preparations for their operations have been completed.
