The nomination papers have been submitted on behalf of BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman from Dhaka-17 constituency to contest in the upcoming 13th national election.
BNP’s Chief Election Coordinator Abdus Salam along with Professor Farhad Halim Donar submitted the nomination papers at the office of Dhaka Divisional Commissioner in Segunbagicha around noon on Monday. Farhad is also the chief adviser of the Doctors Association of Bangladesh.
The nomination papers for Tarique Rahman were collected on Sunday. After 17 years in exile, he returned home from London on Thursday and was registered as a voter in the Dhaka-17 constituency on Saturday.
Today, Monday, is the last day for submitting nomination papers for the parliamentary election.
