Three officials of the Siddhirganj Union Land Office in Narayanganj have been transferred and face departmental cases for failing to report to duty at the scheduled office hours.
Narayanganj Deputy Commissioner Rayhan Kabir confirmed the development.
The officials are Siddhirganj Union Assistant Land Officer Md Nasir Uddin, Deputy Assistant Land Officer Md Omar Faruk and Office Assistant Jannati.
Nasir Uddin and Omar Faruk have been transferred to Araihazar, while Jannati has been transferred to Bandar upazila. The action followed a surprise inspection by State Minister Kaisar Kamal at the Siddhirganj Union Land Office on Wednesday.
He reached the office at 9am and found the gate locked, with no officials present at the workplace during the scheduled office hours. Nasir Uddin later arrived at around 9:45am and Omar Faruk reached the office at about 10am.
The state minister said necessary measures would be taken against them for reporting late to duty.
