Police recovered bodies of three members of a family including an eight-month-old baby from a residence in Amirabad in Madaripur’s Sadar upazila.
The deceased have been identified as Chinmoy Das, his wife Isha Das, and their child.
Sadar Model Police Station’s Officer-in-charge (OC) Abul Kalam Azad confirmed the matter on Sunday.
OC Azad said the house belongs to Santana Rani Chanda, the widow of the late Birendranath Dutta. Misti Baroi, wife of Italy expatriate Jatin Baroi had lived there as a tenant for the past three years.
He added that Chinmoy and his family reportedly arrived at the residence, introducing themselves as Misti’s cousins. After receiving a call from Misti, police went to the scene. Misti was alone in the adjacent room.
OC Azad said that police are investigating the incident. Misti is on the preliminary list of suspects.
After the recovery, police sent the bodies to Madaripur 250-bed District Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
