Two individuals, including a woman, were killed in separate road accidents in Sirajganj on Monday. Four others were injured in the incidents.
A truck carrying government textbooks hit an auto‑rickshaw coming from the opposite direction on Patgram Road in Kazipur upazila, police said.
Chan Miah, 65, a passenger of the auto‑rickshaw, died on the spot. The vehicle’s driver and three other passengers were seriously injured. Locals rescued them and took them to Kazipur Upazila Health Complex.
Kazipur Police Station’s Officer‑in‑charge Shah Mohammad Enayetur Rahman said, “Police are at the scene, and legal action will be taken after investigating the incident.”
In another incident, a truck heading towards Natore from Dhaka hit a motorcycle in the Bhengri Bazar area on the Hatikumrul–Bonpara highway the same day.
Fatema Akhtar, who was riding pillion on the motorbike, died on the spot, while the rider, Shameem, was injured.
Hatikumrul Highway Police Station’s officer‑in‑charge Ismail Hossain confirmed the accident.
